Sample Match Report

Robot joint components at China Hi-Tech Fair.

A sample Match Report for a European maker of collaborative robots: who to meet, why, what to ask, and in what order. This is a summary view. A real report goes deeper and varies with your brief and the fair.

Illustrative sample. Company names withheld; details are composites. A real report covers more, on more suppliers.

1 · Your brief

Buyer
Collaborative-robot maker, Denmark
Sourcing
Harmonic reducers, servo motors, encoders
Must have
Backlash ≤ 20 arcsec · CE · ISO 9001 · 300–800 units a month

2 · Why this fair

The co-located AI & Humanoid Robot Expo brings joint-component makers into one hall area, and the Shenzhen–Dongguan cluster lets you add a factory visit on the last day. We also considered CIIF in Shanghai (too close to book well) and a December bearing fair in Shanghai (too narrow for your list).

3 · Shortlist and route

Six of the exhibitors we reviewed, ranked by fit. Tap one for the evidence, the questions to ask and what to watch for. A full report gives each supplier its own profile (see below).

  1. Evidence you can check

Datasheets on its website; ISO 9001 certificate number you can check with the issuing body.

    Ask on site

Lifetime test data at rated torque; a European customer reference; price break at 500 units a month.

    Watch for

Two addresses are listed. Confirm which one is the factory.

Schematic. Not to scale. Route · Day 1 Hall 9 → 10, Day 2 Hall 11

4 · Your days at the fair

  1. Day 1

Hall 9 for reducers, servo and encoders, then Hall 10 for second-source meetings.

  2. Day 2

Hall 11 for benchmarking, then follow-ups with your top two. Bring your drawings.

  3. Day 3

Factory visit to your first choice in Shenzhen or Dongguan. Book it before you travel.

5 · Before you place an order

We recommend verifying your top two or three suppliers: registration and ownership, legal and trade history, and whether the certificates they show are genuine. See how Verify works.

Beyond this sample

A real report goes deeper than one table.

This page shows a shortlist view so you can see the shape of the work. For each supplier on your list, a full Match Report goes further, and what it includes is set by your brief and the fair.

Company profile

Scale, ownership and locations, and whether the company is a factory or a trader.

Products & technology

Product range, specifications, process capability and the certifications it holds.

Fit with your brief

Why it matches, where it falls short, and how it ranks against the other suppliers.

Evidence you can check

The sources behind each claim, so you can verify them yourself instead of taking our word.

At the fair

Booth and hall route, who to ask for, and the questions worth raising on site.

Watch-outs & next steps

Warning signs, open questions, and what to verify before you place an order.

And more, depending on what you source. Tell us your spec and we’ll scope the report to it.
